FV2CE: Show Pigs Guide from A to Z
Shows Pigs have finally arrived in FarmVille 2: Country Escape. Team up with a partner or raise a pig on your own. This guide will walk you from start to finish on how to raise your first piggy! Note: Be forewarned mobile users that this guide is picture intensive. Though I did my best to optimize the pictures to hopefully load faster.
How to raise your FV2CE Show Pig
Here's an overview of how to raise your special piggy.
Note 2: Not everyone has this update just yet. There are a few things to be worked out and a limited number of players are being allowed to test this before a future release to everyone.
First you want to visit the Show Booth which is located next to the Prize tent where you turn in ribbons or tokens for prizes. The first two pens are free but if you wish to add an additional pen it will start to cost you keys.
Once you have your pen then drag it over to a free spot on your farm to place it. They are pretty small and don't take up a lot of room. Which is great, you may want to raise a second piggy at the same time of the first.
Here's the meat and potatoes of the whole feature. You can raise a piggy on your own or you can invite a partner to help you raise it. The items located above the pig are what you need to craft/have in order to feed it. In the picture above you can see that it wants corn. The next food item will be eggs, then potatoes, and then eggs again.
Now you can choose a friend or a community member to act as a partner. The Friend invite will only send an invite to FB friends that you have friended. While the community partner button will find a random player that can be anyone.
I haven't chosen a partner as I wanted to try it out on my own. So far there is no button to "X" out a food item if you don't have it. The developers did mention an "X" button may be coming in the near future.
Now we arrive to an annoying block. The "Zzz" time of the pig. When you hit this point you must either wait out the timer(3 hours, ouch) or use a "Dinner Bell".
The first one will be free but any after that will cose 20 keys to buy. Once you use up the Dinner Bell it will boost your pig's feeding for as long as the bell is active(2 hours).
Now I did mention that you can raise another piggy. There are about 6 various pig breeds to choose from. Each pig will cost coins, or keys to purchase. If you don't have the coins or keys to raise a pig you can partner up with another person to raise one. Then during the weigh-in you have a chance to win a free pig to raise.
Of course with all things Zynga there is a time duration to how long you can raise your pig.
Okay, so here I got an invitation to raise a pig. Notice that it's free if I choose to accept the invitation. If not then the piggy will cost 12000 coins.
I decided to accept the invitation. On your screen and also on your partner's screen your profile pictures will appear on either side. Now you both can begin crafting/feeding the pig.
Each bar represents a Stage that you must fill up(including the circle). Note 3: In order to qualify for the costumes your pig must reach Stage 4.
Once you timer has ticked down to the last second it's time to weigh your piggy. A green question mark will appear over its head or on the left side of your screen. Click on him to be taken to the weigh-in screen.
My partner wasn't much of a helper. We didn't reach past Stage 3. However that doesn't mean we lost. We did get some nice prizes and even a dinner bell to help out for a next try.
The bigger your piggy weighs the higher the bar fills on the left. The higher it reaches the more prizes you will earn including various costume hats for your pig to wear.
At the end you will be shown this screen. You can choose to turn on or off the ability to see the piggy on your farm. This will be important to remember as the more pigs you raise the more crowded(not to mention potentially laggy) the farm will become.
Finally, you can see your pigs roaming about in this area. They will walk all over. If you hover over their heads it will display their name & weight.
FAQs about raising FV2CE Show Pigs
Can I rename my Pig?
- Yes you can! Rename your piggy by tapping on the pencil icon beside its name.
What are Dinner Bells?
- Dinner Bells keeps your pig awake for 2 hours during the time it's suppose to be sleeping. This allows you and your Partner to speed up feeding your pig without worry it will take a nap.
Can I store my extra Pen to use for later time?
- Yes. You can only store an empty pen. Tap the pencil icon to store it.
What happens after my Pig is weighed in?
- You can grow a new pig after every weigh in. This means that you can choose from the other breeds available, including choosing a new partner to raise the chosen pig with. You can also choose the same breed and partner that you previously had.
Can I raise multiple Pigs at once?
- You can place up to 6 pens on your farm but starting from the 3rd pen it will cost keys.
Do I need to visit my Partner's farm to feed our Pig?
- Before in the beta testing this was a thing. However a player no longer needs to visit your Partner's farm to feed the Pig as it is a shared asset. So no, you don't have too.
How do I feed my Pig?
- Feed your pig by dragging the filled order onto your piggy. Each feed adds an increment to your pig's progress meter.
Why is my Pig sleeping?
- A pig's nap is a timer added that gives you and your partner a break from feeding it. While sleeping a pig displays the item it wants next. Take this time to create food items and organize your next move.
How will I know if someone invites me to be their Partner?
- When someone invites you be to a partner, their profile photo will appear on the Show Booth. If you are already raising a Pig of your own, you will need to add a new pen on your farm to accept a friend's invite.
How do I invite a Partner?
- Click on the "Invite Partner" button beside the pig's progress bar located at the bottom of the screen.
- Once clicked, the Invite Partner button gives you two choices:
- Find Partner - chooses a random partner for you to raise your pig with.
- Choose Friend - allows you to choose from the list of Facebook friends that you have in the game.
What if I can't choose a Pig to raise?
- If you can't choose a pig to raise, you can help a friend or another farmer raise a pig of their own by tapping on a "badged" Pig and select which friend you want to help.
What if I don't have enough coins to buy a Pig?
- You can win free pigs to raise from weigh ins. Pigs won from a previous weigh in will have a green "free" text on them.
I hope this guide helps answer a few questions. If you have any more questions that weren't answered feel free to comment below. Good luck on raising your Show Pigs!
My partner has asked me to feed her show pig. How do I do that?
ReplyDeleteHiya! So, your partner is sharing her pig with you. I'm assuming that you're at least Level . You need a pig pen from the pig booth next to the Prize Tent if you dont have one already. Since your friend invited you, click on the empty pig pen and you'll see your friend's profile picture. Accept their invite (it shows a pig with a Number on it) and their pig will appear in your pen. Then you just start feeding it whatever it shows on your screen, like grapes or apples. If you dont have the food item then click off the "x" button and it'll give you another item but there will be a timer. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.
