You have the option to purchase the new chef in town, Chef Joy Kitchens, and/or Maitre D' as Farm Hands to help you out in the FarmVille 2 Country Escape World Food Festival. They will give you a higher chance of finding rare event items and more!

Note: These two farmhands are temporary, and will leave your farm when the event ends. Depending on how a player purchases(or does not purchase) keys will determine the initial price.
Maitre D' functions the exact same way as Chef Joy. There is no difference between the two other then gender and name. Both will give the same extra percentage boost at the special exploration places to find the rare items such as vanilla or chickpeas.
Basically they are identical. However, one of the tricky things about these farmhands is that they actually work better as a pair.
Fourth phase at the Grocer's Corner and they still bring in the special ingredient. Keep in mind that buying these two at 150 keys a piece is 300 keys which is the same cost as a permanent farmhand from the Farm market. And this event only rewards a temporary farmhand. Weigh the costs and decide if you think it is worth the purchase to help complete the event.
This is the final phase. Using them at the other places of exploration does give an extra boost but not always a complete green circle. The Glade is an example of a place of exploration that does not have a complete ring around the ingredient. However, these two together do come pretty close to closing it.
I hope this helps you choose whether or not you'd like to purchase these temporary farmhands. Remember, as long as you are enjoying the game then that's all that matters in the long run.
